Governance Structure

Our Hereditary Chief, wing chiefs, and all members of the Tsetsaut Skii km Lax Ha Nation work together to make important decisions for our Nation. While the Hereditary Chief provides traditional leadership, other members in leadership positions and from the Nation more generally are consulted on all important decisions, always aiming to move forward through consensus and ongoing dialogue. This collaborative approach ensures that decisions reflect both our ancestral wisdom and the current needs of our people. Our relatively small population helps make this collaborative and cohesive approach possible.

The Hereditary Chief serves as our Nation’s primary representative in dealings with other governments and organizations.
